Glasseyes Privacy Policy

Glasseyes is operated by James Jackson ("Glasseyes," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how Glasseyes handles information when you use the Glasseyes macOS application and related services.

Information Glasseyes handles

Glasseyes may handle:

  • Text you enter, AI responses, interview context, transcripts, and feedback.
  • Screenshots you choose to capture or attach.
  • Microphone and system audio when you start dictation or a live session.
  • Settings such as your selected AI model, service endpoints, and appearance preferences.
  • Calendar event details, such as titles, times, calendar names, attendees, locations, notes, and meeting links, when you grant Calendar access.
  • Limited usage events, such as app launches, prompts submitted, response completion or failure, and whether a prompt included screenshots.
  • Diagnostic information, such as app version, device and operating-system information, crash reports, error messages, performance data, and network metadata such as IP address.
  • Search queries and search results when you use web search.

Glasseyes does not intentionally use analytics events to collect the text of your prompts, AI responses, transcripts, or screenshots.

How information is used

We use information to:

  • Provide AI responses, transcription, web search, and interview assistance.
  • Save and restore your local chat and interview history.
  • Show current and upcoming scheduled meetings.
  • Operate, secure, debug, and improve Glasseyes.
  • Understand aggregate feature usage and reliability.
  • Comply with law and protect users, Glasseyes, and others.

Local storage

Chat text, interview history, context, and preferences may be stored locally on your Mac. Chat history records whether a screenshot was attached, but Glasseyes does not persist the screenshot image in its chat-history database.

Audio recorded for file-based dictation is stored temporarily on your Mac and is deleted after the transcription attempt. Some live transcription can be processed on-device. Other transcription modes send audio or derived audio data to the provider selected in Settings.

You can delete individual saved sessions in Glasseyes. Removing the application may not automatically remove all data in its macOS application container.

Service providers and data transfers

Glasseyes sends information only as needed for the features you use:

  • The configured OpenAI-compatible AI service receives prompts, relevant conversation history, system instructions, and attached screenshots.
  • Your selected transcription service may receive microphone or system audio.
  • Exa may receive web-search queries when web search is enabled and used.
  • Hogflare receives limited product-usage events.
  • Glitchflare receives errors, crashes, logs, and related diagnostic context.
  • Apple processes information required to distribute the app and provide macOS services, including permissions and on-device speech features.

These providers may process information in other countries and under their own terms and privacy practices. If you replace a service endpoint or API key in Settings, the provider you select controls its own processing.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use prompt, screenshot, audio, or transcript content to train our own AI models. An upstream AI or transcription provider may apply its own retention or training terms, so review the terms of the provider you select.

Retention

Local history remains until you delete it or remove the related application data. Temporary audio is deleted after a transcription attempt. Service providers retain transmitted information according to their operational needs, contracts, and policies. We retain analytics and diagnostic information only as long as reasonably needed for security, reliability, support, and product improvement.

Permissions and your choices

Glasseyes requests macOS permissions only for features that need them, including screen capture, microphone access, and speech recognition. You can deny or revoke these permissions in macOS System Settings, although related features will stop working.

Calendar access is optional. Calendar event details are read locally to identify current and upcoming meetings. Glasseyes does not send calendar event details to its analytics service.

You can avoid sending screenshots by not attaching them, stop audio capture at any time, choose on-device speech where available, change configured providers, and delete saved sessions.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Recording and third-party information

Screenshots, audio, transcripts, and interview context may contain information about other people. You are responsible for obtaining required consent and following recording, privacy, employment, interview, and platform rules before capturing or sending that information.

Children

Glasseyes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, or to object to or receive a copy of it. Some Glasseyes data exists only on your Mac and can be managed there. To make a request about service-side data, contact us and provide enough information to identify the relevant records.

Changes

We may update this policy as Glasseyes changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
